Beatles

A few months ago I was going to do a write-up on the “music game” genre. More specifically, I was going to speak on the ridiculousness that has become the genre, and what I thought to be basic mediocrity. This was right around the time Guitar Hero 5 was announced as well as Guitar Hero: Metallica, Guitar Hero: Van Halen, Guitar Hero: Polka, and Guitar Hero: Roy Orbison. Okay, I made the last two up, but you get my drift. The market is too saturated for these games to matter. I don’t need anymore SingStar, RockBand, WiiMusic, Band Hero, Guitar ..read the full article

jessica_alba_mii

I tried over and over and over to make her, but celery has probably come closer than I ever did to getting the essence of Jessica Alba into a Mii.

It’ll be October in two days. It’s kind of ridiculous. I’ve talked before about time flying, but this is getting a bit out of hand. Dead Space:Extraction is out as of today, and yes, I will be getting it soon; SuperTurtleSmashBros. (yes, I know it’s called TMNT:Smash Up, just sayin’…) is also out; we all know MySims:Agents is out….where the hell did the time go? You know in those alien movies where people who got abducted come back and didn’t realize any time has passed but in real life it’s been like 5 years and their wives remarried their best ..read the full article

Stan Lee

Leave it to Stan Lee to have us reach back into our childhood spirits and realize how much of a blessing video games really are. We’re so obsessed with putting games under a microscope and counting polygons we forget how much of a miracle they are. Luckily, we have Stan Lee to remind us. Good on ya Stan. And as always, Excelsior!

Here’s Lee’s statement in a Guardian interview, where he talks about video games:

If you were starting out now, do you think you would have started out in games rather than comics?

If I were young now and I wanted to ..read the full article

Here we all went through life thinking that Paperboy: The Video Game was just a bland tale about a jack ass kid that threw newspapers through people’s windows. Little did we know there’s a deep and dark drama behind the madness. Enjoy the trailer.

Nintendo has released the 4.2 firmware update for Wii. What new features does it bring? Well, none it seems. What it does do though is delete the Homebrew Channel, BootMii, all forms of cIOS, and more. So if you have any homebrew on your Wii at all, do not update!

[UPDATE] From Nintendo…

“This update provides behind-the-scenes fixes that will not affect features but will improve overall system performance.”

As far as homebrew goes, Bannerbomb no longer works, but Indiana PWNS and SmashStack both work. However, you won’t be able to install the Homebrew Channel or BootMii on a 4.2 version Wii. Based on ..read the full article

The new trailer, which showed us a new chapter, Operation Javiar. The year is 2002 and the setting is South America. We see Leon S. Kennedy, who has walked into a deserted village together with Jack Krauser.

Leon and Krauser search through the village, only to find their guide gravely injured inside one of the wrecked houses, mumbling something about a girl. Then, the trailer quickly shifts back to the village streets, except this time, they’re no longer deserted. Leon and Krauser find themselves surrounded by mobs of zombies all too eager to take a bite out of the two protagonists. ..read the full article
